The New Book! - 03 December 2020 - Plague Journal Day 266

Micah 6:8
John 21:24-25
Yes, your life matters.

We all are still sheltering in place, but I'm here to keep you sane and entertained.
One could hardly ask for much more than that, now could one?

At last I can attest that my latest book is fully available on Amazon. I can say this with confidence because I just received a few copies, and it's really real.

So, if you're interested in becoming a writer, in getting back to writing, in giving yourself a kick in the proverbial pants to get writing some more, this might be the book for you.
It's a book of writing prompts and exercises that are designed to build a habit of writing, and to build up your ability to just plain get something down on paper (or on screen as it generally happens these days).

I'd be more than happy to have you all buy my book, but I know that's unlikely to happen. Still, I do hope it will help some folks to be happier with their writing, and to boost their output. Who knows? Maybe some of us will become as productive as Mitch Rycus! One can but hope. (Check out his books on Amazon as well - I have really enjoyed pretty much everything he has written so far!)

All of my books can be found on my Amazon author page. https://www.amazon.com/author/cvb is the address.

Keep Calm and Stay Away.
I'll be back tomorrow.

Carnage du Jour - 20 October 2020 - Plague Journal Day 222

Today is International Chefs Day! I'm not a chef - that takes training, and just thinking about the word, it should mean running a staff of other cooks in a kitchen. I don't do that, but I do like to cook. So on thie International Chefs Day I thought I'd share a recent success. (note - this is not a picture of what I made, it's just a semi-random picture of lamb and noodles I found that doesn't look as different to mine as most of the pictures I found did.)

I had some ground lamb that needed to be cooked, so I seasoned it very simply with curry powder and garlic salt, browning it in a nice cast iron skillet. (I'm really getting to like cooking in those.) Next up were a bunch of items from the garden: zucchini, yellow squash, and eggplant were sliced about 1/2" thick (maybe a bit thicker) and they were given a pretty hard sauté in that same pan along with a bit of diced red onion (without the lamb, and using canola oil - this was a second shift of cooking). Once there was some nice brown on them, a bunch of halved cherry tomatoes went in and the vegetable mixture was treated to the curry powder and onion salt treatment as well. As this was finishing up, some wide egg noodles went into a pot of rapidly boiling salted water. Then the lamb was added into the vegetables and a bit of plain skyr (the Icelandic version of Greek yogurt) was added to cream it all up a bit.

Today is also the National Day On Writing. On, not Of. Hmm, that seems odd, doesn't it? At any rate, I may as well announce my soon-to-be-released book here, as it's a book of writing exercises. In other words, a book on writing. As soon as the cover design has been finalized we'll be dropping the book for distribution. Now that I've told someone about it, I guess I'd best be about that cover approval, eh? The title? Ah,it's
WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, FRIDAY …
13 Weeks of Writing Exercises So You’ll Finish What You Start

I'll be sure to let you know when it's available!

I'll be back tomorrow.

Kindle-age du Jour - 24 January 2015

Well, imagine, if you will, my surprise to find that I had neglected to create Kindle versions of two of the books I've published. Perhaps there was even a bit of disappointment mixed into that surprise.

Happily, I've now remedied that situation, and there are Kindle versions of both Bytes Akimbo - Cybersleuth and An Adventure with Guerrillas available for purchase at Amazon (they're also included in the free borrowing program through Amazon Prime).

Please feel free to take a look at them - and perhaps even to purchase one or both. I won't mind at all.

Enjoy!
Charlie

Catching up with the times

I just thought I'd join the parade before it passes me by, and move into the era of smartphones and qr codes.

Enjoy:

Shameless Self-Promotion - UPDATED! AGAIN!!!

It seems a near certainty that you all have been waiting (and it is to be hoped that none were waiting with breath held) to hear when - at last! - my next novel would be published.

I am pleased to inform all and sundry that the wait is over.
A Rune With a View is now available from the CreateSpace store, and will be available at Amazon in short order as well.
(OK, here is the link, now that it has happened, but you should be able to search there and find it easily - it is Amazon, after all.)

Clearly nearly everyone on nearly everyone else's Christmas list should be jumping for joy, or shivering in antici ... pation.

Grab a copy - it's good for you!

Amazon is now also ready for your shopping pleasure!

For those out there awaiting the Kindle version, I have good news: it is available and simply waiting for your order to be delivered directly to your reading device. Please, feel free to purchase and enjoy - and why not share that experience with all your Kindling friends? They'll no doubt thank you for it.

Cheers,
Charlie
